MEET GLUU

In the Norman dialect, "gllu" means the rye straw on Norman thatched-roof houses and describes a traditional craft – and that comes with a commitment! Behind gllu are seven pairs of hands, meaning a cheerful team of 7 people: 3 experienced carpenters, 3 carpentry apprentices, and a communications officer.

The founder and creative mind behind the designs is Baptiste. After studying artistic carpentry, design, and several years working on object design, the idea matured within him to design and produce his own creations.

"I no longer wanted to be just a designer, but also a manufacturer, to be able to follow the entire life cycle of a product."

The brand emerged from the desire to be able to produce objects in France with simple and effective design, high-quality materials, at a fair price. For Baptiste and his team, creation means making something out of what we all observe in everyday life, imitating shapes we find beautiful, bridging the gap between useful, intelligent object and design object.

With the development of a new product, new needs are recognized: how do you display your self-printed cards or photos? How can a single beautiful dried flower be showcased? And similarly, the makers behind gllu – the GLUTTONS, as they call themselves – are inspired by their own workshop during their work to create ever new forms and purposes.

The love and dedication in manufacturing, the pursuit of simplicity and purism in the design of the objects, are evident in gllu's products. This creates timelessly beautiful products. This simplification does not come at the expense of aesthetics; on the contrary, it serves it. It allows for more efficient production at the right price, maximizing the potential of the material and know-how.

They are unique pieces on which everyone can express their personality and their world.

"Our products are meant to be loved and to last"
