The small tray with the Piccolo pattern is made from laminated birch plywood and recycled textile offcuts. This product is made in Finland.
The main material of this product consists of 77.5% recycled material. It is reused from Marimekko's textile production waste, and the FSC-certified wood veneer is a by-product of the furniture industry.
In 1953, the year she joined Marimekko, Vuokko Eskolin-Nurmesniemi designed Piccolo, a striped fabric pattern painted with vibrant brushstrokes. Three years later, the Jokapoika (every boy) shirt made from this fabric appeared in stores and on the streets - seemingly forever.
